In 2003, Beyoncé’s second single “Baby Boy” spent nine weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. This? This is not that song.

What this is is a very rare, very strange unreleased version of “Baby Boy.” This vintage mp3 is bizarre from the very start, opening with a gong that is nowhere to be found in the official version of the song.

But unique characteristics abound in this track. For one, its lyrics are completely different than the official version. (Sample lyric: “Picture us getting us breakfast fast, all sweets in the south of France… / Picture you an African prince just looking at the water glistening off my body.” What?) It also features an altered beat and frequent drops by DJ Finesse.

All that said, it bangs. Own this very unusual, very fucking weird “Baby Boy” today.
